Iqq 3 Keeping Faith' "... 'Keeping Faith' is Carter's perspective from the Oval Office and, even with its flaws, it is a sincere effort which reflects who Jimmy Carter is, and what he did." Thus goes George Golubovskis' book re- view of Carter's memoirs which ran in the Daily on January 14, 1983. Oh With President Jimmy Carter boy! The enchanting tale of a peanut farmer who somehow rose to the high- est office in the country makes inter- esting reading, but also makes me wonder what I'm doing sitting here when I could be out campaigning votes for '96?! The fact is, us Demo- crats haven't seen a fellow Democrat in office in over 12 years. But, if nothing else, Carter did provide us with a decent guffaw or two, espe- cially with some of his domestic policies. Hell, who knows? Maybe 10 years from now we'll all have a good chuckle at "Slick Willie"'s memoirs. r1 EDITORS Nima Hodaei Melissa R.
