WHY: Gehrs won both the 200-yard butterfly (2:04.23) and the 200-yard individual
medley (2:05.64) events at the Penn State triangular meet Friday. The swimmer also
combined with sophomore Lara Hooiveld, freshman Beth Jackson and junior Kathy
Deibler to take the 400-yard medley relay with a time of 3:52.21.
BACKGROUND: A team co-captain, Gehrs has been selected all-Big Ten, academic all-
Big Ten and all-American during her stay in Ann Arbor. She has helped lead the
Wolverines to Big Ten championships in each of her three years here.
