HOME ALONE 2 The original was the most successful comedy of all time. Of all time. We're sure Part II:
Electric Boogaloo will be equally satisfying from an aesthetic standpoint. At Briarwood: 10, 12:25, 1:30, 2:50, 4,
5:15, 7:45, 10:05, 11:50. At Showcase: 11:35, 12:10, 2:05, 2:40, 4:35, 5:10, 7:10, 7:45, 9:50, 10:15, 12:15, 12:30.

Just what we were dying to see for the holidays - Mac aulay Culkin's mug in "Home Alone 2." Pass the Pepto.
MALcoLu X Three hours and twenty mintues of Spike Lee? Let's hope it's better than "Mo' Better," for God's
sake. At Showcase: 11:30, 12, 1, 3:20, 4, 5, 7:30, 8:15, 9:15.
FILMS HOLDING:
ALADDIN Another preview for the greatest animated film of all time, well, at least, the funniest. Disney's
planning to buy Robin Williams an Oscar nomination for this one. At Briarwood: 12 noon Sunday only.
Born ROBERTs We meant to catch this the first time around, but... At State Theater: 2,7, 9, 11
BRAM STOKER'S DRAcuLA The horror, the horror. Coppola's monstrous adaptation of Stoker's classic is a
dazzling failure. The buckets o' blood are cool, though. And the music (Annie Lennox has a song) is really good.
At Ann Arbor 1 & 2: 12, 2:25, 4:50, 7:30, 10:05; at Showcase: 1:15, 4, 7:15, 10:05, 12:30
CANDYMAN Not only laughably bad, it's offensive. At Showcase: 12:40, 3, 5:20, 7:55, 10:15, 12:25.
CONSENTING ADULTs Director Alan J. Pakula ("Presumed Innocent") is presumed incompetent with this
disastrously DePalma-esque thriller. Poor Kevin Spacey. At Showcase: 2:20, 9:35.
HONEYMOON IN VEGAS Nicolas Cage is the best actor of his generation and he proves it with his manically
energetic performance in Andy Bergman's follow-up to "The Freshman." At State Theater: 2, 7, 9:15, 11:15.
JENNIFER 8 Andy Garcia (just in that lame dog "Hero") is some kind of cop in a detective thriller, not exactly a
career departure for the star of "Internal Affairs," "The Untouchables," and "Black Rain." Uma Thurman, so cool
in "Henry and June," and John Malkovich co-star. At Briarwood: 10, 12:15, 2:40, 5, 7:30, 9:55, 12:10. At
Showcase: 1:05, 3:50, 7:05, 9:45, 12:15.
THE LAST OF THE MoHicANs Daniel Day Lewis becomes a 18th-century stud in this truly exciting film of
Cooper's long-winded novel. Two thumbs up, way up. At Briarwood: 10, 12:10, 2:25, 4:40, 7, 9:30, 11:45. At
Showcase: 1:30, 4:15, 7:05, 9:30, 11:50.
THE MIGHTY Ducs Emilio Estevez continues his downward spiral since the great "Repo Man" with this "Bad
News Bears" meets "Slapshot" schlock. At Briarwood: 10:15, 12:30, 2:30, 4:30, 7, 9, 11:15. At Showcase: 11:45,
2:10, 4:25, 7, 9:20, 11:30.
PASSENGER 57 Numbers seem to be very big in movie titles lately. This one's starring Wesley Snipes as some
kind of cop in an action thriller. Why bother? Why ask why? Why? At Briarwood: 10:05, 11:50, 1:45, 4, 7:15,
9:15, 11:15. At Showcase: 12:40, 2:45, 4:50, 7:20, 9:25, 11:20.
A Rv RUNs THROUGH IT Robert Redford hits a home run with his third directorial effort, the only recent
movie besides "Howards End" and "Husbands and Wives" that deserves the oft-misused adjective, "great." At
Ann Arbor 1 & 2: 11:35, 2, 4:30, 7:05, 9:35; at Showcase: 1:25, 4:10, 7, 9:40, 12:05.
TRAcEs o: RE Jim Belushi as a cop? Lorraine Bracco as femme fatale? We don't think so. At Showcase: 12,
4:35, 7:15, 11:35.
UMDER SIEGE Steven Seagal ("Above the Law," "Hard to Kill") makes a major break with the past with this two-
word title. Tommy Lee Jones delivers the line of the year: "This is not the work of a cook." We can honestly call
this Seagal's best work to date; interpret that however you wish. At Briarwood: 10, 12, 2:10, 4:15, 7, 9:10, 11:30.
At Showcase: 12:40, 2:55, 5:10, 7:45, 10:10, 12:20.
All late-night shows are Friday and Saturday only. No shows before noon on Sunday at Briarwood. No afternoon
shows on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday and no shows before 2:00 on Tuesday at the Ann Arbor 1 &
2. No shows before 9 on Friday at State Theater.

THE BEST INTENTIONS (1991) If you can't have the real Ingmar
Bergman, this is pretty close. The Swedish master wrote the screenplay
even if he didn't direct it himself (Bille August of "Pelle the Conqueror"
fame did). And it's brilliant. Mich Th 7:00.
THE UNDERDOG SHOW Do you feel pathetic and lonely? Here's your
hero. Mich Th 10:30.

rendition of the mutiny at Odessa. Noted for its fantastic cuts and popular-
ity in film courses. Nat Sci 7:00.

Japanese animation cult craze. Aeon Flux meets Michigan. Aud A 8&
