Touchdown is a let down

Cheese rules America. From mall
to shining mall our McNation is irre-
versibly acid-washed. Sociologically.
cheeseballs can he divided Into two
categories. The first consists offI lall-
mark aficionados that fawn and gag
over how "cute" diaper ads ai-c. Pes-

dances merrily above the front door.
And restrooms are affecetionately
called "Lockers." So brine your bud-
dies, and dIon't lorget a comb for your
back pocket.
T1he food is typical bar fare. 13uf-
filo wings (flavors running the owunut
from nuclear to teriyaki), cheese fries,
pizzas, and burgers are somel of' the
familiar items on the menu. Most have
sporty homers like the "B ig 'l'e n" pizza
which has 11 items (don't "forget
Penn St."). The food goes well with
the beers and drinks that one is apt to
order (if you're tanked). During the
two-tone jeans. I lypercolor. every-
one-sport-a-imustache happy hour,
stay away from salads and "lite" en-
trees if you don't want to be clled a
"fat toush."
Like most Ann Arbor bars, the
Touchdown is nearly empty (luring
Michigan football home ownes. It's
the place to be, though, to watch al-
most all other sports and "profes-
sional'' wrestling. Four- televisions,

tiferous macho-types that cruise
around in tricked-out pickups thump-
ing "Please Don't Go" are emblem-
atic of the second. nfhe'ouchdown
Cafe is a haven for sports fans ini the
latter category.
Just opened over the summer, the
Touchdown is a huge warehouse of a
restaurant/bar. Probert fans will feel
right at home. Murals depicting un-
naturally-posed hockey, baseballI, and
football starlls infest the walls. A giant
sunglasses-wearing Coors Light can
