Special teams may be a sore
spot for coach Gary Moeller this
season. Gone is kicker J.D.
Carlson, one of the most success-
ful in Michigan history, and kick
returner Desmond Howard.
Talented but young replacements
are battling for the honors.
The placekicker at the moment
is fourth-year junior Pete Elezovic.
He is the only Wolverine with any
game experience, that coming
against UCLA two years ago. He
did not play at all last season.
