Normally, The Michigan Daily
does not include photos of its own
staffers; however, this photo story
is a special case. For the inaugural
Weekend etc. photo page, we
wanted to show what actually goes
on here on a daily basis. -ed.
11:10 a.m.: The Daily offices at 420
Maynard slowly become busy as the
editorial staff arrives to begin work
on its stories, while the business
staff sells ads. An editor has been at
the City Desk since 9 a.m., taking
phone calls and calling reporters.
2 p.m.: Administration reporters
Purvi Shah and Melissa Peerless

4:15 p.m.: The editors hold story
conference in the "batcave," a
small room adjoining the news-
room, where they decide what sto-
ries and photos will go in the pa-
per.
5:33 p.m.: Photographer Sharon
Musher inspects on the light table
the negatives she shot during the
day.
10:27 p.m.: Production Manager
Susan McKinney pastes up the
front page headline.
3:01 a.m.: The Daily rolls off the
presses at The Ypsilanti Press.
