KUUMBA, which means "creativity" in Swahili, is a student or-
ganization committed to the creation and celebration of Africen-
tric art. Just over one year old, the group is divided into six fine
art production areas - dance, literature, music, visual arts, film
and video, and theater.
KUUMBA's will kick off its season premier production, entitled
"Colors: Brothers Beneath the Skin" this weekend at Lydia
Mendelssohn theater.
KUUMBA members Akosua Burris, Aletha
Edwards, Africa Freeman, Michael Henry, Jr., Jason
Smith, and Dana Williamson wish to dedicate this
page to the inspiring memory of the late musician
and artist Miles Davis.
