The Michigan Daily - Friday, September 20, 1991 - Page 7 U.S.Surgeon General to speak at School of Health's 50th Anniversary Symposium by Sarita Kaza To celebrate its 50th anniversary, the School of Public Health is spon- soring a public symposium entitled "A Vision for Health Care in the 21st Century" this weekend. Three experts in the field of pub- lic health will present concerns about health behavior, environmen- tal health, and health care services. A panel discussion with five Uni- versity alumni from different pub- lic health fields will follow the speeches. Many health leaders and ac- tivists will attend, including U.S. Surgeon General Antonia Novello and Sen. Carl Levin (D-Mich.). Nov: ello, a former pediatrics resident at the University Medical Center, vis- ited the School of Nursing earlier this year to dedicate the new Mott Children's Center. This weekend she will speak at the closing ceremony. "Dr. Novello is a very ap- propriate person to have speaking at the School of Public Health's 50th anniversary because of her concern with crucial health issues. She is also a very interesting and dynamic speaker," said Susan Wyman, associ- ate editor at the School of Public Health. "And Senator Levin is a CLASSIFIED ADS STS, THE LEADER in collegiate travel needs motivated individuals and groups to p remote Winter/Spring Break trips.
