This jazz fantasia features Denzel
Washington as Bleek Gillian, a young
trumpet player who loves music and
women. Lee plays Gilliam's inept

(particularly among the band
members). Fans will recognize Lee's

directorial debut by Robinson, who
wrote The Killing Fields.

humor, savage stabs at American
culture, and a hilarious deadpan
performance by Peter Sellers.
