Just give me the stolen base... please
Cubs' second baseman Ryne adbr, who is making a bid for the 30-30 club, is tagged out at second base by
Mets' second baseman Tommy Herr. Sandberg has tallied 25 stolen bases thus far, with 38 home runs.
At Wrigley Field yesterday, the Cubs rallied past New York, 4-3, because of Sandberg's league-leading 38th
off of Frank Viola. The Mets now stand three games back of Pittsburgh in the hotly contested National League
East race. The Pirates were idle yesterday, and both clubs have nine games left to play. New York travels to
Three Rivers Stadium in Pittsburgh for the final three games of the season.
