While on Daily business, sports
staffer Ryan Schreiber racked up
$1800 to a rental car when he
swerved to avoid a deer, only to
run into a car. Schreiber admitted
he was set to collide with the deer
when he noticed that the driver in
the next lane bore a striking
resemblance to Bill Frieder.
Temptation kicked in, and the
damage was done.
Daily sports staffers sometimes
forget their Greek letters, or so it
seems. Often Intramural sports
standings have appeared with
letters like FKS (yes, that's OK).
News staffer Gil Renberg once
said "Being a baseball fan is very
enjoyable. It's very much like
good sex - they're both a lot of
fun to watch." But let's be honest,
is Mr. Renberg really qualified to
make that analogy?
IRA GOLDSTEIN FOREVER
Ira Goldstein's name has been
immortalized at the Daily. The
fun began when a random person,
claiming to be Ira himself,
entered the Daily and presented
the infamous "Forget the
Holocaust" letter to the Opinion
editor for publication. Upon
publication, though, the real Ira
Goldstein was in for a surprise.
After talking to a few infuriated
callers on the phone, our hero, the
real Ira, realized that he had been
taken for a long, long ride. Back at
the Daily, we called our
investigative reporting troops into

action and soon found out that the
letter was in fact a farce. As
numerous forgery hunts have
turned up unsuccessful, our
spineless author continues to
roam the streets.
