Brow is also a huge Griddes fan, playing the Daily's sports picks game religiously. Brow knew he couldn't make a pick of the upcoming Michigan-Michigan State basketball game since it is played on Thursday. Instead, he made a sign saying " M' will cream Spartan team," hoping that would be suffice for his picks. He also had a banana in hand to "Go Bananas." But Brow wavered on who could win the Purdue-Michigan showdown this Sunday. "That's another story," he reportedly said. "But if I eat my banana's I'll get smarter and pick the right game." He then went straight into a cheer of "Strawberry Shortcake, Gooseberry pie." If you want to eat your bananas, play Griddes and edge out Brow - you could be eating dinner for two at O'Sullivans Eatery and Pub. Drop off your picks before you go home. They're due by 5:00 Friday at the Student Publications Building located at 420 Maynard. Brow found it. You can too. BASKETBALL (GAMES OVER SPRING 0 If VanDeWegi by Ryan Schreiber Daily Basketball Writer Michigan coach Bud VanDeWege was outraged after last week's Big Ten Player-of-the-Week was an- nounced. Leslie Spicer, whose 22 points against Northwestern on Sunday topped her 20-point performance versus Wisconsin on Friday, received no mention when the award was handed out to Ohio State junior Vicki Pullie. GIN~ltA BtECT*R eoutraged "I was extremely upset," VanDe- Wege said about Spicer's snubbing. "For the first time in my career, I phoned and followed with a letter (to the Big Ten office). I thought it was a real injustice to her. At the very least it should have been Co-Player- of-the-Week and I was really dis- appointed." WIN AFTER WIN AFTER...: The Michigan conference winning streak has hit six, an all-time high for any Wolverine squad. In addition, the Wolverines swept Michigan State this season in a home-and- home series for the first time ever. Michigan's career record against the Spartans now stands at 6-26. By securing their ninth Big Ten victory, the Wolverines clinched at least a .500 record in the conference for the first time since 1981-82 when Michigan went 3-3. SULTAN OF SWAT, AGAIN: Frosh phenom Trish Andrew just continues to be a force in the middle for the Wolverines. After coming off a career- and Big Ten-high for blocked shots against Northwestern with five, she tallied four more stuffs in East Lansing, bumping her total to 34 - almost double the amount of her closest competitor, Joy Holmes of Purdue. Besides her prowess on the defensive end of the court, Andrew led the team in scoring with 16 points on Friday, hitting seven of her 11 shots.
