Bud Cort and Ruth Gordon star in this incredible psychological study of two very dif- ferent people. Harold (Cort) is a teenager who thinks of little else than suicide and shocking his mother. Maude (Gordon) is the old women who lives in the fantasy world of her youth. A very political and intelligent film with a memo- rable score from Cat Stevens. DEAD POETS SOCIETY (Peter Weir, 1989) Mich Th. 9:15 One of last summer's biggest hits was a low keyed introspective film. Robin Williams stars as Pro- fessor Keating, a new instructor at an exclusive New England boys prep school who gives his boys a lot more than what they bargained for. CREEPSHOW (George Romero, 1982) MLB 3 7:00 An innovative comic book film from the creepy mind of Romero. Shocking, disgusting, disturbing, humorous, appalling, and just plain gross. Five "fantastic tales" told with a variety of stars including Andrienne Barbeau and Leslie Niel- son. NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD (George Romero, 1968) MLB 3 9:30 This is a true terror. Romero's first horror feature is a classic. Seven people barricade themselves in a farmhouse as flesh-eating zom- bies roam outside. Not to be seen alone, this one will scare the dick- ens out of you. REPO MAN (Alex Cox, 1984) Aud A 7:00 & 9:15 Emilio Estevez and Harry Dean Stanton star in this instant cult fa- vorite. A new wave punk gets a job repossessing cars. Social satire and science fiction mix to propel this film. Stanton is excellent as the ca- reer repo man who shows young Emilio the ropes.
