Three bands work out of the Hall, convey- ing to others "a pure and vital folk art that [has] evolved from 1,000 years of African and European culture and two centuries of American slavery." The sounds are Dixieland, swing, and the blues. The musicians are part of the same tradition as Louis Armstrong and King Joe Oliver.
