The dances blend the pag- eantry of Eastern ritual, the discipline of an age-old dance form, the complex rhythms of Indian music, the fantastic heroism of great sagas, and the mysticism of Hinduism which is tangible throughout. Ragagopalan will bring her own musicians and, for those unfamiliar with classic Indian culture, each dance is preceded by an explanation of the story and the movements making the event enjoyable for everyone. Rajagopalan's Classical Indian Dance will take place on Saturday, September 30 at 8:00 PM in Rackham Auditorium.
