It doesn't matter whether it's *om a concert, a cheap restaurant, or jsporting event - it's always the tume old harrassment. S"You've already got more than (ough shirts," she screams. "Why Oie hell did you have to buy nother? It seems like you only wear them once anyway." F Well, Mom better prepare herself r the day of unpacking after this term. What with the Wolverine Rose howl victory and NCAA Tournament ile, she's gonna have a coronary when a dozen or so new shirts jump out of the suitcase. IT SEEMS like a thousand different varieties of Michigan t- shirts are being sold everywhere, from inside the Michigan Union Bookstore to off-campus street corners. No, it doesn't seem like it - they are being sold everywhere. "For two weeks it was like a football Saturday every single day," one saleswoman at Moe's said. "These shirts have been about 95 percent of our business." Not only that, but since it's already been over a week since the end of the tournament, half of Ann Arbor looks like Michigan cheerleaders. "God, check out that shirt," you hear an innocent bystander say of your new acquisition. "That's one I haven't seen yet." JUST WALK by any store - it doesn't matter if it's a clothing store or a restaurant - and the featured item is bound to be a championship t-shirt. There are enough patterns for every man, woman and child in Ann Arbor to have a different look. Forget the stress of choosing classes at CRISP - which shirt you're going to buy is much more important right. Remember, only the right shirt can make the proper statement. Yellow, blue or white? With score or without? Short- sleeved, long-sleeved, or tanktop? These are the decisions that could make or break a fashion statement this spring season. Also, be sure to get a quality shirt. Don't fall for concert-style garbage that will fall apart after one washing. AND WHAT a capitalist trend all this has caused at Michigan. The loud yell of "Championship t-shirts here" by fat fans with cigars is now heard more often than Preacher Mike on the Diag. And it is capitalism at its best. One student, senior Erik Kitlaus, has begun selling t-shirts so he can pay LIBERAL ARTS GRADS Ambitious, hard working grads for entry level market- ing or media trainee positions with fast growing, highly successful direct marketing mail firm in Hackensack, New Jersey.
