Prime Time in Academe
I was appalled by the fact that you con-
sidered television a significant enough as-
pect of college life to warrant a cover story
(ENTERTAINMENT). People in their intellec-
tual prime tend to have more worthwhile
priorities than watching prime time.

Upon reading John Schwartz's other-
wise excellent article "Why Watch Old
TV?" I was shocked to find what can only
be termed an error of monumental pro-
portions. After quoting flawlessly from
Shakespeare's "Hamlet," Schwartz mis-
quoted a line from the theme song of the
Flintstones: "Let's ride with the family
down the street / Through the courtesy
of Fred's big feet." In fact, the line is:
Fred's two feet."

det University (EDUCATION) was outstand-
ing. My sister, who has been profoundly
deaf since birth, plans to attend Gallau-

Columbia Winners
Does NEWSWEEK ON CAMPUS have to
join the list of periodicals that smirk at
Columbia's varsity football team (MULTI-
PLE CHOICE)? All right, so be it. But don't
give a false impression of the school. It's
not that we're Ivy League and everyone
here is hopelessly brilliant (although we
are), but we can actually play sports. Why
not mention a few of our good teams?
Men's soccer, women's archery, the men's
fencing team are national champs. Even
freshman football just finished an unde-
feated season. So laugh while you can,
sports reporters and rival schools; we're
waiting till next year.
