And if he didn't like it... "Hey! Hey!" I yelled at the top of my lungs ,to anyone who might hear. "This man is trying to take away my rights! This man is trying give me a set of values!" Some woman walked by; I grabbed her arm. "Listen to what this man is trying to do! He's trying to make the University a totalitarian state! We must join forces and stop him!" "Rape! Rape!" she cried. "Oh, God, never mind. Hey, you!" I yelled across the street. "Help me, please. There's big trouble here. Our freedom of speech is at stake here!" The stranger took off his earphones. "Sorry, man, I gotta read Beowulf tonight." I heard Fleming laugh. "I don't like this one bit, Mister," I told him. "So sue me," he said. I sighed. "I don't have the time to "Listen," the man interrupted. "All I ask is that you be good." "Well, what does 'be good' mean?" "It means to stay out of trouble." "But -" I tried to ask him what he meant, but he just walked away. I looked at the ball and the instruction booklet. "Do I get a bat with this," I yelled after him. "Oh, that comes later," he said.* JANUARY 126 Ouellette Ave. (519) 977-1522 January 15 FRI BLUES CRUISERS 16 SAT BLUES CRUISERS ITS NEW! M INTERVIEW Continued from Page 8 L: He was actually involved before me, but I don't know anyone who could do what he does in this film. D: Is the film just a Robin Williams vehicle or is it a story? L: Put it this way, a lot of people are going to call it a vehicle. If someone succeeds really well, you say it's a vehicle. You never see an actor who doesn't do well and you say, "Oh, that was a vehicle for him." So in other words, because he w performs so well, I think we can refer' to it as a vehicle. But if you say, "Is there a movie that's really there?" I'd say yes. Is what Robin's doing supportive of the film? Yes. He has a responsibility to be a funny deejay because that's what is set up. That is an obligation he had to fulfill. It's a dramatic piece. D: So you're saying a lot of Robin's portrayal in the film was ad-libbed, that it couldn't be scripted? L: I think you probably could script it if you did it out of an improv situation. There's two ways to do it. We did improvisation because we're working on our feet and I think we understand how it goes... You can't just run back to the editing room and throw everything together. You've got to know where you're going and then you can refine it in the editing room. But you can't just make it all up. We could probably have sat down for a week with transcripts and turned ,w { :> ; .. 7 1 t t 1 1 1 NON-STOPI Kinko's is open 241f anytime for fast ser quality, and lowlov Copies, Binding, P I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I 1 1 7] I P 'f' t; CARDS MUGS T-SHIRTS PLUSH GIFT WRAP & BOWS BELLY & GOELITZ CANDIES 1988 CALENDARS ,mOTORS, Quality Care ForYour Fine Imported Automobile W R Phone 663-5544 SENIOR N SAVINGS..
