Michigan -made

film

disappoints

(Continued from Page7)
boyfriend touches a tree and she
begins melting into it as he melts
into... well, you know.
The script also fails to
sufficiently develop the characters.
There are so many minor ones that it
is difficult to fully understand the
relationships between them. And
midway through the movie, when
they all wrap themselves in plastic
for protection against the disease, the
audience has no idea who is who.
There are some good points to
this film, like the fact that it was.
filmed entirely in Michigan. The
transitions between scenes of the
leaves changing colors are fantastic.
But beautiful transitions hardly make
up a film. White and his, crew, many
University alumae, have put together
a slick product that on 'its cover
looks very professional. But the

look of a film is irrelevant if the
story is of so low a level.
White commented on his film's
supposed moral, and added that he
feels "it is right to hate... for
appropriate reasons."
I know he'll understand.
