Page 10-The Michigan Daily-Wednesday, November 4, 1987 GRIDDES PICKS BR OST SPURS ON TEAMMATES Caspar Weinberger, United States Secretary of Defense, is reportedly eady to resign his position.r T e announcement came as a surprise in Washington, but not in Ann Arbor, where Griddes followers have been tracking the Friendly Ghost's demise. Weinberger, it seems, was strug- gling to defeat to Secretary of State George (Don't Call Me Charlie Brown) Shultz in the White House Secretaries' Griddes pool each week. When former basement secretary Fawn Hall beat Weinberger last week, Caspar decided to hang it up. In a related story, Deng Xiaoping stepped down amid rumors of Griddes reform in China. "It may have been a slow start statistically, but it wasn't a slow start playing-wise," said Berenson. "He' s been playing very well." Bowlin Green head coach Jerry York agrees. After the Bowling Green series, in which Brost failed to score, York gave rave reviews. "I can't really comment on the Michigan players until I see the films," said York.
