(AP) - Rich Miano returned a blocked field goal 67 yards for the winning touchdown with 1:48 left as the New York Jets beat t h e Cincinnati Bengals 27-20 yesterday. Breech had missed a 46-yard try seconds earlier but got a second chance when the kick was nullified because the two-minute warning had been reached. Barry Bennett blocked the second try, and Miano picked it up, getting blocks from Bennett and Carl Howard on Breech as he sped down the left sideline for the score. Miano intercepted a long pass by Boomer Esiason to seal the victory. Bears 23, Pack ers 10 CHICAGO (AP) - Neal Anderson and Thomas Sanders each scored a touchdown, and Kevin Butler kicked three field goals - one of which broke a 10-10 halftime tie - as the Chicago Bears beat the Green Bay Packers 23-10 yesterday. Anderson grabbed a 20-yard pass from Jim McMahon in the first half and Sanders ran seven yards for his touchdown in the fourth quarter. Butler connected on field goals of 21, 27, and 52 yards. I. The victory gave the Bears a 9-2 record as they retained their two- game lead in the NFC Central Division. Green Bay fell to 4-6-1 and was eliminated from title consideration. Saints 20, Steelers 16 PITTSBURGH (AP) - New Orleans' big play defense set up three scores, including Bobby Hebert's deciding fourth-quarter touchdown pass to Eric Martin, then held Pittsburgh on two goal-line stands as the Saints rallied to beat the Steelers 20-16 yesterday and clinch the first winning season in their 21-year history. With the Steelers leading 14-10, the Saints' defense - second best in the NFL - forced a fumble ahead of Hebert's scoring pass, then intercepted a Mark Malone pass to set up Morten Andersen's second field goal of the game. Rueben Mayes scored on a 5-yard run early in the third period as the Saints, 8-3, won their fifth in a row by rallying from a 14-3 halftime deficit in a game dominated by two of the league's highest-rated defenses. Cardinals 34, Falcons 21 ATLANTA (AP) - Neil Lomax passed for 369 yards and two touchdowns, sparking St. Louis to a 34-21 victory over Atlanta. Earl Ferrell also scored twice on one-yard runs and the Cardinals defense set up two touchdowns and a field goal with turnovers in handing the Falcons their sixth loss in a row. The Cardinals scored on three of their first four possessiosn, building a 21-7 lead. St. Louis, 5-6, got touchdown passes from Lomax twice in the opening quarter, a 49-yarder to Troy Johnson and a 25-yarder to Robert Awalt. Colts 51, Oilers 27 INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Albert Bentley caught two scoring passes, the first touchdown receptions by an Indianapolis back since 1984, and Eric Dickerson ran for a pair of first half touchdowns as the Colts defeated Houston 51-27 to retain a share of the lead in the AFC East. George Wonsley scored on a two- yard plunge with 10 seconds to play, giving the Colts their highest point total since a 58-20 victory over Buffalo on Dec. 12, 1976 when the franchise was still in Baltimore. In his fourth start as a Colt, Dickerson topped the century mark for the fourth consecutive game, breaking the club mark of three straight set in 1975 by Lydell Mitchell. The AFC's rushing leader finished the game with 136 yards on 27 carries. Bills 27, Dolphins 0 ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (AP) - An emerging Buffalo defense limited the Miami offense to 239 yards - just 23 on the ground - and stopped Dan Marino's streak of 30 straight games with at least one touchdown pass, beating the Miami Dolphins 27-0. The Buffalo defense intercepted Marino three times, and Don Strock replaced the Miami quarterback in the fourth quarter. Jim Kelly threw two touchdown passes for Buffalo, which handed the Dolphins their first shutout since 1982. Eagles 34, Patriots 31 FOXBORO, Mass. (AP) - Paul McFadden kicked a 38-yard field goal with 2:44 left in overtime after missing a 39-yarder two minutes earlier, and the Philadelphia Eagles survived a New England Patriots' rally for a 34-31 victory. Tony Franklin missed two chances to win the game for New England as he failed on field goal attempts of 31 yards with five seconds left in the fourth quarter and 46 yards with 9:59 to go in overtime. On the first play after McFadden's kick went wide to the left with 4:46 remaining in the game, linebacker Gary Cobb recovered Mosi Tatupu's fumble, giving the Eagles the ball at the New England 30-yard line. Redskins 23, Giants 19 WASHINGTON (AP) - Jay Schroeder, benched two weeks ago, threw three second-half touchdown passes Sunday, leading the Washington Redskins from a 16- point deficit to a 23-19 victory over the New York Giants. Schroeder's 28-yard scoring toss to Ricky Sanders capped a four-play, 45-yard scoring drive and gave Washington the lead for the first time with 4:56 left. New York got to the Redskins' 18 in the closing seconds but the game ended with Tony Galbreath being tackled on the four-yard line. Schroeder, who was pulled from the lineup Nov. 15 due to his ineffectiveness, got the start against New York because of a back injury to Doug Williams. Despite being sacked six times, he completed 28 of 46 passes for 331 yards, including 17 of 25 in the second half. Broncos 31, Chargers 17 SAN DIEGO (AP) - John Elway, shaking off an interception that was returned an NFL record 103 yards for a touchdown, passed for three scores and set up two others to lift Denver to a 31-17 victory over San Diego. Vincie Glenn gave the Chargers the early advantage with his record interception return in the first quarter.
