Taking advantage of a shaky Wayne State pitching staff, the Wolverines put many ducks on the pond, getting 10 hits and drawing 10 walks. The second game was a lot closer with Michigan winning 2-1. The Tartars took a 1-0 lead in the top of the sixth inning when they scored on a wild pitch by Michigan's Julie Clark. But the Wolverines countered with two runs in the bottom of the sixth to win the game. After Bolster walked, and Mueller and Sara Dyksterhouse both reached on errors, Nan Payne hit a sacrafice fly to score Bolster. Vicki Morrow then rapped a pinch-hit single to score Mueller for the game-winning RBI. Michigan raised its record to 25- 12 and is in second place in the Big Ten.
