Our photo staff gives us their
AVOID CLICHES AT ALL COSTS: squirrels, dumb
little kids, and zooming cars. But it's tough when you're
out there, and the wind chill is 30 degrees below zero and
the editor says that there is lots of space for feature photos
and you know that by the evening all of the space for
photos somehow just disappears, very mysteriously.
And then on top of it all, when you pick up the next
day's Daily you see that the nightside editor decided that
they just had to run an Associated Press photo of the high
school football player whose head is too big for a standard-
