Pa ge 8 - The Michigan Daily -- Friday, September 26, 1986 4 Records~ (Continued from Page 7) Gone Fishin' CAN'T GET LOST WHEN ;YOU'RE COIN' NOWHERE R estless Gone Fishin' are Matt Piucci of the Rain Parade and Tim Lee of the Windbreakers. From the sound of their first album, Can't Get Lost When You're Goin' Nowhere, it seems like they would have been more successful if they'd gone fishin' rather than making this record. The record is mostly composed of slow songs similar to those of the Rain Parade. The big difference is that the Rain Parade's slower material is dreamy, moody and crisp. Gone Fishin's songs, 'on the other hand, are sort of bland and boring. Unfortunately Gone Fishin' don't stray far enough from the Rain Parade style to avoid comparisons to this far superior band. Une can just hear the Rain Parade doing stronger versions' of Gone Fishin' songs like "Too Many Eyes." Gone Fishin' are best when they rock out as in "Lift Up" and "Something Happened" or when they hedge to the folky side of life on "Charlie Jones." Simply put-you'd be much better off investing in Rain Parade. -Danny Plotnick Cc4I fl UDIOLOGI t 3"4 or an oifttrent 24H~ops.* ~~~~~~~~~ p __________________________________ i1 f-,r C.41 TAY/AlI LILJ 1171 1 k- . p CAtooN! 4 r" I HERO ,s sP"/NN1N6.
