been met or that the accused continues to pose a
significant threat to the safety of the University
community , a heariing shall be conducted pur-
suant to the provision set out in Sec. C.2, above,
to determine what if any restrictions or con-
ditions should be imposed. If the accused is not
available for the reevaluation, the Central Coor-
dinator may recommend to the Council that the
restrictions be extended.
5. Reopening. The accused or the Central Coor-
dinator may request the University Council to
reopen a hearing should significant new eviden-
ce become available that is not repetitive of that
previously presented and that was not available
through reasonably diligent efforts at the time of
the original hearing. The victim may present
new evidence to the Central Coordinator for con-
sideration in requesting a reopening. If the
Council deterimines that the case should be
reopened, a hearing shall be conducted pursuant
to the provisions set out above to determine what
action should be taken.
D. Time Limits
In extraordinary circumstances, any time limit
in these procedures may be extended by the
University Council.
E. Records
No notification or record of these proceedings
may appear on a student's academic transcript.

However, a letter containing notice of any
restrictions or conditions imposed by a Hearing
Board or by an appeal panel may be placed in a
student's file. Such a letter may only remain in
the file for the duration of the restrictions or con-
ditions.
V. AMENDMENT
This document may only be amended if supported
by five members of the University Council, at least
two of whom must be students, one of whom must
be a member of the faculty, and one of whom must
be an administrator, and ratified by the Regents,
the SEnate Assembly, and the Michigan Student
Assembly.
VI. MANDATORY REVIEW
These procedures shall lapse two years after the
date they are finally ratified. After review, the
University Council may or may not promulgate
these or other rules and procedures according to
Regents' Bylaws Section 7.02.
*The Central Coordinator shall be the University
official appointed upon recommendation by the
Universtiy Council to administer these procedures.
As used herein, "the Central Coordinator" shill
mean "the Central Coordinator of the Central
Coordinator's designee."
