JAE KIM/Weekend
As time goes by, you come to appreciate Rick's.
Jokisch: catching on with Bo.

BEST DECISION
Paul Jokisch
In '85, the senior split end proved
he made the right choice when he
decided to spurn basketball for foot-
ball in the spring of 1984. Last season
he caught 37 passes for 681 yards and
two touchdowns. With his 6-8 frame,
many pick him to be one of the
nation's top receivers in 1986.
BEST REBOUND
The Women's
Basketball Team
Following a 7-21 record last year in
head coach Bud Van De Wege's first
season at the helm, the women cagers
hit .500 at 14-14 in 1986. The
Wolverines' victory over national
power Iowa highlighted the sdason.

WORST INJURY
John Fisher's Shoulder
The sophomore standout was lost
to the wrestling team in the second
tournament of the season. His absen-
ce left a huge hole in the lineup and
prevented Michigan from duplicating
or improving on its fifth-place finish
in the NCAA the year before.
BEST BASEBALL NAME
Casey Close
The potential puns are a broad-
caster's dream.
BEST PITCHER
Vicki Morrow
The ace of the softball team's staff
went 5-1 in her first six games with a
0.00 ERA this year.

fortable, it's no wonder that MLB is
the place that everyone's hoping to

BEST PLACE TO GET

BEST PLACE TO GO ON A
SATURDAY AFTERNOON
Nichol's Arboretum
Position yourself properly in the
Arb, and you might be able to forget
that you're in a city. There are trees,
and flowers, and stones, and there's
rushing water, and more importantly,
there's enough of all those things that
haried urbanites can stake out a
private piece of turf and do nothing.
BEST PLACE TO STUDY
The Graduate Library
The Grad features neat little
cubicles with desks and chairs that
one respondent liked so much, he
voted for said cubicles as the Best
Place for a Couple to "Be Alone." Of
course, his opinion, and the opinion
expressed by the majority of the
voters seem to be mutually exclusive,
as the cubicles are roofless, and sound
travels. We recommend that the
respondent take his act elsewhere, but
who knows? Maybe some of the
voters actually selected the Grad for
its vicarious auditory thrills.
BEST SORORITY
Kappa Kappa Gamma
Dedicated to promoting ."in-
dividualism, group excellence,
scholarship, and community
awareness," the Kappas were easy
winners.
BEST FRATERNITY
Lambda Chi Alpha, Zeta
Beta Tau, and Zeta Psi
The Winterfesters, Clambakers,
and the music-oriented fraternity tied
for this one. We think they all voted
for themselves.
BEST PARTY
The Mudbowl Mash
The first party of the year,
featuring the pit 'o' beer, live music,
and a gigantic phallic symbol, swept
this category. Freshman, be on alert.
You might miss this one the first time
around, but there's no excuse next
year.
