The parade, billed as the largest annual spectator event in Arizona, had over 500,000 turn out to watch last year's spectacular travel the 21/2..mile route down Central Avenue. With more than 40 floats, 24 bands and 22 equestrian entries, the parade should be quite a success again this year. Ticket reservations are available at the Fiesta Bowl office and prices are $12, $8, and $4. For golfers who get there early, the Arizona Biltmore Country Club is holding their second annual Million Dollar Hole-In-One competition on December 21. Last year, the lure of winning one million dollars for a hole- in-one attracted over 4,0000 amateur golfers, and big crowds are expected this year. There really is something for everyone. Runners have a 10K race to keep them happy, while music lovers can check out the Fiesta Bowl National Pageant of Bands and the ten outstanding high school marching bands that will be competing for top honors. Golf and tennis tournaments are also being held, and any number of luncheons, including the Kickoff Luncheon on December 31 highlight the week's activities. Shown here is the area known as the "Valley of the Sun. Phoenix, Scot- tsdale, Mesa and Tempe all run together to form one large, sprawling metropolitan zone that is notable for its mixture of retirement com- munities and youth, thanks to the Arizona State University campus.
