'Subtlety and classicism go together in many of today's fashions such as the narrow skirt." Many of today's clothes are becoming more form-fitted and con- servative, says Follmer. "The long jackets and big sweaters that we are seeing now will probably continue in- to spring as the length of skirts will become shorter," says Follmer. This simple dressing is what will make you look good and get noticed. Nusport serves both the student and professionaly population of Ann Ar- bor, according to Renee Green, the manager of the store. Whether a far out or conservative dresser, most everyone will find something within Benetton's varied colors and types of clothing. While the Benetton rugby has still remained their best-seller, many of the over- sized men's sweaters have also been selling very well, according to Kathryn Bernstein, an LSA junior who works in the Ann Arbor store. "All of the colors of our line will go together and can easily be mixed and matched," says Bernstein. "We offer great basics for anyone's wardrobe, and lots more." Although Benetton has been in Ann Arbor for only 1 L. years, they have had phenominal success with the student population. "Sometimes all we see are students," adds Bernstein. Rebop, a vintage clothing store that opened just five weeks ago, specializes in post-war clothing, from the 1940s to the 1960s. "People have become interested in more ornamen- tation as the androgeny of the '70s is quickly wearing off," according to Michael O'Connor, an LSA senior and Rebop retailer. "In the '70s both sexes were really into looking the same with jeans and t-shirts, but now the clothing is retur- ning to more of a sex-orientation," said O'Connor. "Wool skirts and sex roles are back - vintage clothing of- fers a way to economically par- ticipate in today's trends."
