Syr. ~u - C . wort.AW After five weeks of existence it is time to examine the worth of the Weekly Daily Line. This week the foot- ball writers received their fikst coin- plaint about the Line. Interestingly, the criticism came from a former Daily sports editor who. thinks the Line is too self-serving. "That guy's a geek," replied current sports editor Mike McGraw upon Wearing of the criticism. The simple fact is, the Line has become the latest campus craze. The sports editors have been swamped with requests from all corners of the cam- pus. Professors, administrators, athletes and student leaders have been pleading to be featured as our Special Guest. This week's guest star is the charismatic Antoine Joubert, a sophomore, on the basketball team. Joubert came to Michigan as one of the hottest recruits in the country. In 1982- 83 he won Mr. Basketball honors as a result of his dominating play at South- western High in Detroit. As a freshman last season, the 6-5, 195-pound Joubert averaged nine points, three assists and two rebounds per game. In the NIT he averaged 13 points a contest as the Wolverines went on to capture the title. Last week's special guest, Red Berenson, went 6-4 in what proved to be a tough week. Berenson coaches his fir- st Wolverine game tonight against Miami of Ohio in Oxford. Not everybody plays Griddes; this week it looks like even fewer may play. The reason? You guessed it - the Tigers are in the World Series. Seems that homework isn't the only thing that the October Classic has caused people to forgo. Many regular griddes' will probably blow us off and riot turn in their picks to the Daily (420 Maynard). We here at the Daily are getting in on the World Seriessact also. Number 19 of this week's picks involves the mighty Tigers and the lowly Padres. If that isn't enough incentive to get you to turn in your picks, consider that the winnner gets a free, small, one-item pizza from Pizza Bob's. Picks must be turned in by nidnight tonight. P.S. A lot of traditional players are @eferring to this week's picks as "Shid- Two Packers accused of rape Not Available at William St. Restaurant or Cottage Inn Cafe. de Picks" becapse they include a baseball game. Chicago Cuds at Daily Libels MILWAUKEE (AP) - Prosecutors pressed an investigation yesterday in the case of a tavern dancer who told police she was raped by two Green Bay Pac- kers football players. However, no charges had been filed, and one investigator said a decision on possible action might be delayed until today. MILWAUKEE Police Vice Squad Capt. Richard Heder said the district attorney's office will review the case today. He said a first-degree sexual assault investigation was under way, and that two police investigators were sent to Green Bay Wednesday to inter- view the two players. "We still don't know what we have," Heder said of the allegations. No names were released. An 18-year-old dancer told police that the two players assaulted her Tuesday night in a dressing room at a Milwaukee tavern where she worked. She also said that the players forced her to perform oral sex on one of them, police said.
