The Wolverines and three other CCHA teams meet tonight and tomorrow in the Battle Creek Collegiate Classic at the Kellogg Center Arena. THE WOLVERINES face Western Michigan tonight, in the opening contest of the tournament at 6:30 p.m. The other first round game will match Ferris State against Lake Superior State. The con- solation and championship games will be played tomorrow night. Michigan enters the Classic with a 1-0 mark on the season, thanks to a 4-3 victory over Michigan- Dearborn last Saturday. Wolverine coach John Giordano was pleased with the offensive effort his team exhibited in the game. "We had possession in their zone most of the game," said the third-year coach. BUT MISSING from the effort were goals. Gior- dano cited that in 74 Michigan attempts on the net and 37 actual shots on goal, only four goals were registered. "With that many chances, you've got to score goals." By comparison, Michigan-Dearborn tallied three goals on 41 attempts and 21 shots. The Wolverines had built a 4-0 advantage after two periods, including one goal each by freshmen John Bjorkman an and Jim McC three third-pe " WE LET dano.
