It's Only a Game
Fortunately for rabid Wolverine fans, the
week preceding the big game in Pasadena 4
was preceded by all kinds of fun. The floats,
bands, rallies, smiling faces, and the L.A.
party-town atmosphere provided more than
enough distractions for visiting Michigan-
ders. With Disneyland in one direction and
Hollywood in another, visitors were faced
with lots of tough decisions. A good time
was had by all, according to most accoun-
ts-until 2 p.m. PST. After the opening
kickoff, UCLA showed an international
audience it had the better team by a score of
24-14. And Bo was bummed. And Michigan
was bummed. But the game was relatively
short, and people, looking back, were heard
to say, 'There's always next year.' Indeed
