Spencer, a 6-foot, 195-pound junior, shifted to tailback because of injuries at the position. He carried 29 times and scored on runs of one and five yards as the Trojans pulled out to a 31-7 halftime lead. Spencer tallied his final touch- down on a 7-yard burst in the third quarter. THE STARTING fullback since the first of last season, Spencer, son of for-. mer heavyweight boxer Thad Spencer, also caught three passes for 48 yards against the outmanned Ducks.
