ITruck explodes ai i' re e sr ncinerating six OAKLAND, Calif. (UPI)- A tanker truck loaded with gasoline crashed into a runaway bus in a highway tunnel yesterday and exploded into a 1,000-degree inferno which melted vehicles in seconds and incinerated their occupants. At least six people were killed ins their cars by a giant fireball sent hurtling through the tunnel which runs more than half a mile under the Berkeley Hills, officials said. Authorities found a seventh body which they believed might be that of ananimal. Three people were hospitalized.) THE TANKER truck, carrying 8,800 gallons of gasoline, crashed into the side of the Caldecott tunnel as' its driver swerved in an unsuccessful attempt to avoid a collision with the out-of-control bus, which was empty except-for its driver, the California Highway Patrol reported.. The ensuing blast and fireball melted vehicles into pools of netal and dissolved brass fittings on the tunnel walls. The heat, estimated at 1,000 degrees or more, popped tiles from the wall of the tunnel and crumbled the concrete surface to a powder. The Michigan Daily-Thursday, April 8, 1982-Page 7 Local Psychiatrist wins insurance suit From staff and wire reports The insurance company of an Ann Arbor Psychiatrist must pay any damages resulting from a malprac- tice suit over his alleged used of "sex therapy"' on a female patient, a Michigan court has ruled. The Michigan Court of Appeals ruling yesterday affirmed a Washtenaw County Circuit opinion in a case involving a suit by Bettina Cot- ton against Dr. Arnold Kambly. THE VIGILANT Insurance Co. argued if Kambly engaged in sexual relations with Cotton under the guise of treatment, his behavior would amount to a felony and therefore be exempt from coverage. The appeals court, in rejecting the argument, noted Kambly's insurance policy covers any injury resultinge from the rendering or failure to ren-- der professional services and has no exemption for illicit sexual relations. .Cotton claimed she was induced to have sex as part of her treatment,. while Kambly insisted it was merely a case of a love affair gone awry. In 1980, the state Board of Medicine suspended Kambly's license for one year after finding he had departed. from minimal standards of care. Robet Ulieru, a director in the-. Michigan Bureau of Medical licensing and regulation, said Kambly will ap. pear before the Michigan Board of Medicine next week to request that his license be reinstated.
