DETROIT (AP)-Rookie Mike Blaisdell scored his first two professional goals last night as Detroit downed Colorado 5-1 and became the last National Hockey League team to register a victory. Detroit had dropped its first five games. THE RED WINGS jumped to a 1-0 lead only 15 seconds into the game on a goal by rookie Jody Gage. A short-handed goal by Colorado's Doug Berry tied it less than six minutes later. John Ogrodnick then started the Red Wings on a three-goal blitz as he notched his fourth goal of the season at 18:58. Blaisell's first goal came at 1:30 of the second period, then Errol Thomtpson staked Detroit to a 4-1 lead on a set-up from Mike Foligno at 3:58. Blaisdell, the Red Wings No. 1 pick in the 1980 NHL entry draft, scored his second goal at 3:57 of the third period. The Red Wings' defense played steadily.in front of goalie Jimmy Rutherford, who stopped 26 Colorado shots. Detroit had ente;ed the third period in four of its first five games either tied or ahead, only to lose due to poor defense. Detroit is 1-5 and in last place in the Norris Division while Colorado dropped to 3-3-1 in the Smythe Division. Lions sign Lawless POINTIAC (AP)-The Detroit Lions strengthened their injury-depleted offen- sive line yesterday by signing free agent and former Dallas Cowboys starter.Bur- ton Lawless to a multi-year contract, a club spokesman said. The 6-foot-4, 255-pound offensive guard is in his sixth National Football League season. He will be in uniform Sunday when the Lions meet the Chiefs in Kansas City. LAWLESS WAS THE Cowboys' second-round draft choice in 1975 and became the first rookie since 1965 to start on Dallas' offensive line. He retired from the Cowboys during training camp and was traded to the Miami Dolphins, who released him. Defensive back Luther Bradley, who has missed the last three games with a knee injury, was placed on the injured reserve list to make room for Lawless.
