Although most of the "front office personnel" operate behind the scenes, out of the general student body's view, some ad- ministrators are quite visible. Among those who regularly cross paths with students (clockwise, from top left): Director of Undergraduate Admissions Clifford Sjogren, who oversees the process by which students are accepted-or not accep- ted-by the University; Vice-President for Academic Affairs Bill Frye, coordinator of the many academic programs of- fered here; President Harold Shapiro, who watches over the entire institution-academic departments, support systems, libraries, student organizations, and personnel; Vice- President for Student Services Henry Johnson, who works with student groups and acts as the liaison between the students and the University; and, finally, Vice-President and Chief Financial Officer James Brinkerhoff, who regulates the finances, property, and business of the University, and who is particularly vital in handling the distressing money matters here. - .
