"We've cticing our offense after lear- on our team's past road trip," k Chip said Michigan coach Candy Zientek. As the second half began, " the Wolverines continued to out-hustle the Chippewas with sophomore halfback Denise Comby scoring to make it 3-0 in favor of Michigan. Comby, from West- field, New Jersey, was the third leading scorer for the Wolverines last year as a freshman, and Zientek is expecting pewas, bigger and better things from her in the '81 season. With the adept goaltending of Nancy Hirsch, a sophomore from Glencoe, Illinois, the Wolverines' defense wts too tough for the Chil pewas to penetrate. To add to the Michigan margin, Forrestel added her second goal of the day, ending the scoring for the Wolverines. It was Michigan's first- ever shutout of CMU. "OUR GIRLS have the potential, we just need some time," said Zientek, in her third year as the Michigan coach. Zientek is pleased with her squad's - s 40 performance thus far this season. She pointed to the fact that over half the team consists of freshmen and sophomores. As the season continues and the women get more playing time in, the team will develop, she said. Although the squad is young, the sophomores received a great deal of playing time last year, giving them a solid base. Yesterday's game was the first in a five-game home series.
