Name Address Dept. - Phone Page 14-Friday, September 18, 1981-The Michigan Daily The weekly DAILY line-- O.K., where are the real football experts? Are they up and coming frosh crammed in a dorm room? Are they Greeks who predict games while painting the Rock? Are they non-conformists who predict while peering out from under a large marijuana plant? Or, least likely of all, are they the senior sports editors at the Daily? Well, we shall find out as the senior sports editors match wits with the weekly Gridde winner in picking the winners of important college games. Last week's winner, Jay Hill of West Quad, picked the winners for this week and his choices appear next to the editors. Who are the experts? IS IT SPORTS editor Mark Mihanovic, the notorious gamblin' man? Mihanovic puts his money where his mouth is-what a big target! Is it Ypsilanti-native Buddy Moorehouse, who is known for his objective journalism-about as objec- tive as Bob Ufer. Moorehouse believes everything comes up maize and blue but all he saw was red in Wisconsin. Is it Drew Sharp, the young man who just found a new toy-alcohol. Sharp picked Notre Dame, so that should tell you what his new toy has accomplished. IS IT GREG DeGulis, the Cleveland native who is still sitting in Municipal Stadium waiting for last win- ter's Brian Sipe pass to fall into a Browns uniform? Is it the unknown Hill, the Gridde winner from the hallowed halls of West Quad? When asked about his chances, Hill only said, "I predict while I eat, and I eat an awful lot." But what does Hill know? The West Quad food has gone to his brain. Next week, however, you can bat- tle the prognosticators if you are the Gridde Picks winner. Get your Gridde Picks to the Daily (420 Maynard) by midnight Friday and you can be a win ner, too. al i SPOR TS OF THE DAILY: pRD SCN®ENE EgER Video''(V 3 is 00000 Q ARD ® Tigers fall, 6-1 BOSTON (AP)-Jim Rice collected four hits, including a three-run homer and a run-scoring double, as the Boston Red Sox completed a four-game series sweep with a 6-1 victory over Detroit last night.
