PHARMACEUTICAL SCIENTIST
POSTDOCTORAL POSITION available im-
mediately for an individual trained in phar-
maceutical sciences (physical pharmacy/phar-
maceutics) to study perecutaneous absorption of an-
tiviral agents. Candidate must have a sound working
knowledge of the physical laws of diffusion (both
thermodynamic and kinetic aspects). The project
involves study of permeation of skin using in vitro
diffusion cell methods. The obtained data is to be
used to design effective dosage forms. It will be
necessary for the candidate to construct quantitative
models which describe the absorption process in
terms of the chemical structure of the permeants
and the physiochemical compositions of the dosage
forms and the skin. The candidate thus shtould be
familiar with structure/solubility and structure/par-
titioning theories. Some familiarity with the proper-
ties of the skin and topical dosage forms would be
helpful. The candidate should be a skilled analyst
(HPLC, GLC, DTA/DSC, etc.) and have a working
knowledge of scintillation spectroscopy and
separation techniques. No previous postdoctoral ex-
perience necessary. Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Scien-
ces (Pharmaceutics) $11,400/year.
