PHARMACEUTICAL SCIENTIST
POSTDOCTORAL POSITION available immedi-
ately for an individual trained in pharmaceutical
sciences (physicl pharmacy/pharmaceutics) to
study percutaneous absorption of antiviral agents.
Candidate must have a sound working knowledge of
the physical laws of diffusion (both thermodynamic
and kinetic aspects). The project involves study of
permeation of skin using in vitro diffusion cell
methods. The obtained data is to be used to design
effective dosage forms. It-will be necessary for the
candidate to construct quantitative models which
describe the absorption process in terms of the
chemical structure of the permeants and the phy-
sicochemical compositions of the dosage forms and
the skin. The candidate thus should be familiar
with structure/solubility and structure/partitioning
theories. Some familiarity with the properties of
the skin and topical dosage forms would be helpful.
The candidate should be a skilled analyst (HPLC,
GLC, DTA/DSC, etc.) and have a working knowl-
edge of scintillation spectroscopy and separation
techniques. No previous postdoctoral experience
necessary.
