Along with the dis- plays of creative handiwork, visitors will be treated to a wide variety of musical and dramatic performances during each of the fair's four days. "The performers give the peo- ple a break from all the visual things," said Lois Linter, enter- tainment coordinator for the Street Art Fair. "It's also good exposure for up and coming artists." LINTER SAID that turnout in past years for these free per- formances has been good. "Some groups have their own particular audiences, of course," she admitted, "but no matter what type ofgroup it is, it's greeted warmly" The entertainment, arranged by the Ann Arbor Council for DAILY CLASSIFIEDS BRING QUICK RESULTS qkeDaiQceqrikG be 6Mery DINING Enjoy a comple te i G{,frmoian and Aneican specia oties in the Bavarian atmy phi t itthe Alpine Room...ekv- ng from IL oI .,() 0amt. Plenty of parkiig in rlear. the Performing Arts (AACPA), is performed on a stage located on East University near the Physics and Astronomy Build- ing. WHEN CHOOSING the per- formers, Linter strives for di- versity. Although AACPA mem- bers are given first choice to appear, talent from other Ann Arbor groupsand outlying areas is also sought. "Sometimes performers are a little reluctant, but those who've taken the chance (to partici- pate) have really enjoyed it," said Linter. She added, "In the future I'd be delighted if more local peo- ple-dancers and theatre groups -would get involved." DESPITE THE blazing sun, rained-out performances, and hot floors under the feet of dance troupes, many perform- ing groups have enjoyed their art fair experience so much that they return year after year. An unusual slide presentation will be part of the entertain- ment offered this year. A group of photographers will wander throughout the fair, taking pic- tures of the crowds. Then, each evening, slides of the previous day will be shown, giving spec- tators their own chance to "be part of the art fair."
