'Muldoon spent 10 minutes with Mao last Friday, far less time than the 82-year-old Chi- nese Communist party chair- man usually spends with for- eign dignitaries. Muldoon said he believed this was because of Mao's health. "THERE tS no doubt he is not healthy," the prime minis- ter said at a news conference. A number of American and other foreign visitors to China in the past year have report- ed Mao to be frail and some- times to have trouble speaking, but they said he had an active and alert mind. Muldoon said Chinese offic- ials told him about Mao's stroke, but they did not say when it occurred except that it was "some time ago." THE CHINESE hierarchy, probably the most aged na- tional leadership in the world, has been hit by several deaths this past year, topped by the cancer death of Premier Chou En-lai in January at the age of 78. A vice chairman of the party C e n t r a I Committee, Kang Sheng, died Dec. 16 at the age of 77, and Tung Pi-wu, a mem- ber of the standing committee of the Central Committee politi- cal bureau, died a year ago at the age of 90. THE AVERAGE age of the 16 surviving members of the Politburo is 66. Capernicus, in 1543, published a book saying the earth and other planets traveled around the sun. 6:00 2 7 11 13 News 9 Beverly Hillbillies to Utra Maa 50 Brady Bunch--Comedy 62 I Spy-Adventure 6:30 4 13 NBC News-Jahn Chancellor 9 News 11 CBS News-Walter Cronkite 20 Daniel Boone-Adventure 7:00 2 CBS News-Walter Cronkite 4 Bawling for Dolars-Game 7 ABC News-Barry Reasoner 11 Brady Bunch-Comedy 13 Hogan's Heroes--Comedy 56 mBark Perspective on the News 50 Michigan State Lottery 62 Speaking of Sports 7:30 Treasure Hunt-Game 4 Don Adams' Screen Test 7 Match Game PM 9 Room 222 11 Wild Kingdom 20 It Takes a Thief- Adventure 13 Adam-52-Crlme drama 541 Hogan's Heroes-Comedy 56 Evening Edition with Martin Agrousky 62 News 3:00 2 11 Waltons 4 13 Movie-"Law and Order"s 7 24 Welcome Back, Kotter 50 Merv Griffin 56 Detroit Black News 62 Move-"*CIty of Shadows" 1:30 7 24 Barney Milser 20 Wrestling 56 Black Journal MENTAL HEALTH RESEARCH INSTITUTE SEMINAR SERIES BYRON A.
