To The Daily:
WE'D LIKE to 'tear up some
if the confusion about the Coin-
otittee to Fight the Tuition Hke
that came out in David Whit-
ing's 'rtice 'Students Meet to
Plan Tuition Strike" on Wed.,
July 30th. We do not want to
waste time in abstract ideolo-
gical dehate ahout the "lines"
if different groups -wshat we
want to do is organize students
to fight this tuition hike and
any other attacks that c o m e
down. We also sopport t h e
struggles of the teaching assist-
ants and other low-paid univer-
sity employees like the clericals.
Instead o fighting them over the
crumbs that ar handed down,
we're linking up to prtectthe
rightso f all.

tionary Student Brigade) sup-
ported the proposals of ,f) ' and
Irving Freeman and txhnrafnre
didn't see any need to pitt out
one of its own. No one ai the
meeting argued that all we
should ever do is fight the tuition
hike hut that we should start
focusing on that as the sharpest
attack right now. As the Daily
aicle said, we also pledg~e to
fight any cutbacks r layouffs
that the administration mght
try to implement.
