Local The former executive secretary to Michigan Governor William Milliken, William Hettiger, has cast doubt on re- ported certainties that Fedele Fauri, former University vice-president for state relations, is under consideration for the chairmanship of a state racing commission. Asked if he had contact- ed Fauri about taking the position, Hettiger replied, "No, I h a v e not." Hettiger added, "I have been introduc- ed to Fauri; I did not interview him." Commenting on an April 22 article in the Ann Arbor News that indicated he had been assigned to reorganizing the racing industry, Hettiger remarked, "Not true." He suggested that a "series of misunderstandings" had been re- sponsible for identifying him as chief racing reorganizer. "I have no know- ledge if Fauri is under consideration," remarked Hettiger. "The only one who can indicate it is the governor him- self." Happenings ... . . . are all but non-existent today.
