You will emerge with a wad of gum on
your shoes.
South University. Where it all began.
The only real art remaining. But out of
forty booths, about three still exhibit
bonafide stuff. Some cute pen
drawings, some nice pottery. And that's
it. Lots of people wearing bermuda
shorts, showing puffy flesh above the
knee. Hawaiian shirts abound. No

shame or modesty here. This is the time
when we get to be Bohemians. Please.
The fact is that the art fair is NOT
fair. It is a gross imposition, and ac-
tually, there's an interesting story
about how it came to be. You see, the
Ann Arbor Art Association, which has
something to do with the lair, used to be
the Ann Arbor Heart Association.
Only they had all this letterhead
stationery made up, see, and it came
back with two letters missing, viz: Ann
Arbor Art Association. And they didn't
have enough money to make up new
paper. So they started peddling pottery.
It is my contention that this typo
should be erased for once and all.
