Samoff honored for teaching

history; John Jonides, assistant
professor of psychology; John
Niederhuber, associate professor of
surgery; Kensall Wise, assistant
professor of electrical and computer
engineering; and J. Frank Yates,

associate professor of psychology.
Four senior faculty members will
receive the Distinguished Achievement
Award for "outstanding teaching and
research": Robert Super, professor of
English; Harold Jacobson, professor of
political science; John Pedley,
professor of classical archaeology and

Greek; and Walter Weber Jr.,
professor of civil engineering.
Samoff was recently appointed to the
Ann Arbor Transit Authority (AATA)
by Mayor Louis Belcher. He was a
member of the citizen's advisory com-
mittee to the AATA board previous to
the appointment.
