Crawford set sail on its maiden voyage at Tiger Stadium last night, and although it wasn't exactly smooth sailing all the way, the cruise can be termed nothing but a success, as the Tigers sunk Mijwaukee, 6-1. Jim Crawford, given his first starting assignment of the seasons, ran a tight ship and bottled the Brewers on ten hits. His mates helped out by swabbing the deck with four sparkling double plays and several fielding gems. CRAWFORD LASTED 7 1/3 INNINGS, striking out four and walking one to raise his record to 4-4. His counterpart, Mike Caldwell, never survived the second inning, as the Tigers torpedoed the Brewers for five runs. The Tigers scored all five runs after two were out. Catcher John Wockenfuss doubled with one away and went to third on a round out. He then scored on Tom Veryzers infield c opper that Robin Yount couldn't come up with.
