Summer City has also sponsor- ed a job program which its or- ganizers claim has been "very successful." Through leafletting, posters and newspaper advertis- ing the program has found about 12& odd jobs for people since early June. Summer City according to Donald Borut, assistant city ad- ministrator, will have cost the city of Ann Arbor about $4,000 this year. The program, however, has not 4 been without its problems. The biggest, according to De- nise Moreault, has been the hectic operation of coordinating the program's limited resources. "When you don't have a lot of money you have to depend on volunteers and free services, which tend to be less reliable since they're not paid for," she says. According to the coordinators, the University, which owns Peo- ple's Plaza, threatened several weeks ago to discontinue the con- certs because of alleged con- sumption of alcohol and smoking of marijuana by the rock bands and the audience. This is not true. In addition, it seems, this same organization has scheduled the same movie for the same days. What this blatant competition will accomplish for them remains to be seen. Our regular patrons will be glad to hear, though, that our showing will be in 35 mm, a mint theatrical print, free from the defects so often found in 16 mm prints. In addition, it will be projected on our big, wide screen, with 100% picture, not the 88.9% picture one finds in 16 mm cinemascope movies. Further, there is a sound advantage of approximately 10 db on either end of the frequency span. Thanks for your continued support.
