(AP) - A 20 year old black was shot by police yesterday when he drove through a roadblock after two holdups and a series of firebombings, in Columbus, Ga. The man, Willie Osborn was killed as police maintained heavy patrols after 21 fires Sat- urday and Sunday which they claimed were started by arson- ists. The fires follow-d a march by blacks Saturday demanding more blacks on the ety police force and a bi-racial citizens police re- view board. There are about 300 persons on the police force, four of whom are black. Two black city officials pleaded for "patience and calm" in a news conference shortly after the shooting. Black leaders, however. sched- uled a meeting for last night to consider launching a boyc.tt against Columbus merchants to force the city to meet their de- mands. Civil Rights leader Hosea Wil- liams, who led Saturday's march, called Osborne's death "just Phone 764-0558 plain murder", and predicted a "bloodbath" if city officials fail to meet black demands "imme- diately."
