Sensing conference set at 'U' By JONATIIAN MILLER Romote Sensing - a technol- ogy of optical, electronic and acoustic surveillance of the en- vironment - is the subject of an international symposium to be held at the University next week. Scientists from the Soviet Un- ion, Europe, Asia, South a n d North America will convene to hear over 200 papers dealing, in the words of one University news release, "with virtually all aspects of remote sensing." The symposium, which is to be conducted by the Center for Remote Sensing and Analysis at the University, is sponsored by the University Institute of Sci- ence and Technology, the Unit- ed States departments of Agri- culture, Transportation and the Interior and the Environmental Protection Agency.
