Conspiracy is not funded by the University, or any other corporate interests. To make close to $10,000 in ad- vance payments and deposits for the Coasters-Drifters-Crystals concert in Hill Auditorium, we had to sell about that much in ad- vance tickets. It didn't happen. ITEM: Talent costs. ITEM: $3,000 advance payment for Hill Auditorium, not including either required city police, or our own security. ITEM: Several thousand dollars in print and radio advertising, etc., etc., etc. We were faced with a situation of 1) a possible loss of six-to-seven thousand dollars by going ahead, or 2) the certain loss of three-or-so thousand by cancelling now. In the humility of our cooperative poverty, we didn't gamble. We're sorry. Our dream of "Charlie Brown," "Yackety-Yak," "Under the Boardwalk," "He's a Rebel," all on a summer evening, is frustrated, too.
